What's Exp-EAR-imental Earring Design?
It's nearly spring! Or hopefully pretty close to it wherever you are in the world. Spring means that it’s time to crank out another collection. Who doesn't love a fresh earring design or ten? While designing a new collection sounds fun, and it definitely is, it can also be daunting. Creative blocks, finding the time to be creative or a cacophony of intrusive thoughts that hit once you do sit down and try to get to work.
Exp-EAR-imental Design Concept
Earring Designs. Our debut experimental collection includes Balloon Dogs, Scorpions and Pickle Ball Paddles.
Thus, the concept of our Exp-EAR-imental Designs was born! What’s an Exp-EAR-imental Design? It’s a mysterious earring design experiment where we release a pre-order for a general prompt for an earring design (noun, material color, finding color). Amanda, our lead designer, has a limited time (usually two weeks) to design that earring to begin shipping by the launch date.
Our first Exp-EAR-imental Design challenge included the prompts: scorpion, balloon dog and pickle ball. Based on pre-sales, balloon dog was the overwhelming winner, but scorpion didn’t do too shabby. You guys obviously don’t do sports. Haha. That’s okay! It’s all part of the experiment.
Balloon Dog Earrings
The Balloon Dog stainless steel hook earrings are cut from transparent neon pink plastic, which glows under blacklight. Vinca’s Balloon Dog earrings have ballooned into an additional design! Coming soon to the shop is our Balloon Dog stack earring. For party animals only!
Heartbreaker Scorpion Earrings
Next up are our Heartbreaker Scorpion earrings in glitter gold. Considering this collection rolled out in time for Valentine’s Day, we thought it was cute that ‘ol scorpion is a symbol of resilience and a fighting spirit. If you get your heart broken, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and sting the hell out the bastard that did you wrong. These are also rolling out in additional color variants including solid black, glitter hologram and glitter pink.
Pickle Ball Paddle Earrings
Furthermore, our final Exp-EAR-imental earring design is Pickle Ball Paddle earrings. If sports aren't your thing, I totally understand. You can gift these to your more athletically inclined pal or wear them ironically. Either way, there’s a super fun yellow pom pom ball on them that I can’t get enough of.
